FUNDING AND SPONSORSHIP

We are completely self-funded, although we have now been the recipient of two Cheltenham Community Pride grants. Up until now we have run two major events a year - our Summer Festival and a Christmas Craft Fair - together with a number of smaller fundraisers. And we have had the help of more than 100 local sponsors. You can see our current list of sponsors here. We are enormously grateful for their support.

As our running costs, such as printing and insurance, have slowly been increasing we have just started a new monthly cash draw (that you can read about above) so that we do not have to worry about covering our basic overheads.

MEDIA COVERAGE

We have had masses of media coverage since we started and you can see the list here.

As the reduced funding takes it toll on the services the NHS is able to provide this gives us all an opportunity to take more personal responsibility for our health. This might well include understanding our health strengths and weaknesses as highlighted through our personal and family health histories as well taking a long hard look at what we expect our bodies to cope with in terms of diet, environmental toxins, over the counter and prescribed drugs as well as social drugs such as alcohol, cigarettes etc. The plain fact is our bodies have only a limited capacity to withstand toxins, some less than others, and the older we get the more the toxins we are exposed to impact on our health and wellbeing. As a Homeopath I see one of my jobs as informing my patients of the many simple ways they can improve their health and so would welcome any tried and tested health tips or healthy recipes that any of the members may have to share...I'll start: Elderberries are one of the best ways to incorporate vitamin C into your diet and it is very easy to make Elderberry Syrup and takes far less elderberries than you might think and they seem to be in abundance when we take our dogs for walks in the hills around Leckhampton. A fellow homeopath advised me that she and her husband  (now in their 70's) have for many years benifitted from taking the elderberry syrup they make each year as they have not suffered since from influenza or viruses in general. A recipe can be found at www.healthfutures4you.co.uk at the bottom of the 'Did you know' page. Look forward to hearing from your healthy tips or recipes . Lynne Shrubb, LHC, MARH, RHom
