We are completely self-funded, although we have now been the recipient of two Cheltenham Community Pride grants. Up until now we have run two major events a year - our Summer Festival and a Christmas Craft Fair - together with a number of smaller fundraisers. And we have had the help of more than 100 local sponsors. You can see our current list of sponsors here. We are enormously grateful for their support.
As our running costs, such as printing and insurance, have slowly been increasing we have just started a new monthly cash draw (that you can read about above) so that we do not have to worry about covering our basic overheads.
We have had masses of media coverage since we started and you can see the list here.

You could be providing valuable advice to your friends and neighbours on how to save energy. In these difficult times most people want to save energy and therefore save money, but many don’t know where to start.
Transition Town Cheltenham are aiming to train up to 50 ENERGY CHAMPIONS and you could be one of them. You will be given information that you can then pass on to others in your neighbourhood. Your main role will be as a point of contact – you do not need to be an expert, but you will be adding value to your community.
The training takes just a few hours, is FREE and you will be given valuable support materials to assist you in your role. You will also be offered a free energy monitor and an energy performance certificate and will be entered into a draw to win £50 of Co-op vouchers.
The training will take place on:
Wednesday February 29th from 7.00pm – 9.30pm at the YMCA, Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham GL50 1TP
For more information please get in touch by email to info@transitiontowncheltenham.org.uk if you are interested in becoming an Energy Champion.
